What we do:
- Provide confidential support and information to people affected by mental health problems, including carers, in Denbighshire from St Asaph in the North to Llangollen in the South, individually and in groups.
- Raise awareness of mental health issues and strive to reduce the stigma and discrimination attached to mental illness by providing talks and training to groups and organisations. Promote more realistic images of mental ill health in the local media and at local events, such as summer shows.
- Provide specialist training in Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) and Mental Health First Aid
- Listen and respond creatively to the needs of people suffering the effects of mental illness, their families and carers. Being accessible and approachable through having a visible presence in rural communities and market towns.
- We provide regular rural outreach activities in rural communities through our Mobile Resource Unit - DORIS
- We work in collaboration with other agencies to ensure the best possible service for our service users.
- We have built up an expert knowledge base on issues of rurality and mental health and are consulted by many agencies on these issues.
- We promote good mental health.
